New film of Sergei Debizhev – at the Presidential library
The Presidential Library sums up the theme year “Russian people” showing the new documentary film of the famous Russian film director Sergei Debizhev “Russian Dream”.
The film screening will be on August 15, 2013 at 15.00 during the regular session of the film club - a joint project of the Presidential Library and the studio “Lennauchfilm” and the Saint-Petersburg Film Documentary Studio.
The film discussion will be attended by the film director Sergei Debizhev and the main character of the film Marina Albi.
The film tells of the life of today Russian province. The famous American woman Marina Albi, who for twenty years has been living in this country, makes a trip to the most “heart” of Russia. She is interested in life, traditions and culture of the Russian people. How do they live? What do they think? What do they want? What do they think about their country? The film’s heroine meets different people, visiting village houses and temples; she participates in national holidays and festivities. All this helps her to better understand the challenges and joys of small Russian towns and villages, the uniqueness of the Russian soul, the spiritual traditions of the Russian people.
