Gala concert of Elena Obraztsova at the Presidential Library

December 21, 2013 at 18.00 at the Grand Hall of the Presidential Library will be held the celebration of the great singer Elena Obraztsova, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her creative work. The grand event of the cultural life of Saint-Petersburg will bring together friends and colleagues of the actress, her students and fans, young performers and award winners of the Fund of Obraztsova.

Elena Obraztsova never ceases to amaze audience with her talent, achievements and eventful creative biography. In the beginning of her activity – a repeated winner of international vocal competitions in the future - an outstanding opera singer, actress, teacher, partner scene of eminent artists such as F. Barbieri, M. Caballe, P. Domingo, Pavarotti, K. Bergonzi, N. Ghiaurov and many others. People’s Artist of the USSR, awarded the prize “Golden Verdi” and “Order of Merit for the Fatherland” II degree, performed on such global theaters like La Scala, the Liceu, Grand Opera House, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Bolshoi Theatre and Mariinsky Theatre.

The concert program includes congratulations of cellist Borislav Strulev, well-known Italian singers Walter Frakkaro and Carlo Colombard, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Yevgenia Obraztsova, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Tchaikovsky International Competition Alexander Tsymbalyuk, soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Olga Pudova, winner of the National Music Prize “Ovation” and the title of “Best Voice of Russia” Olga Kormuhina, “golden harp of Russia” Sophia Cyprus, male chorus “Alexander Nevsky” and the choir of clergy of Diocese of Saint Petersburg. Musical greeting from Mikhailovsky and the Mariinsky Theatres will be preformed.

The project “Musical Evenings in the Presidential Library”, in which the library serves as a platform for various concert programs implemented since 2012. Technical capabilities and acoustic characteristics of the hall, located in the walls of the former building of the Synod, were already appreciated by European, American and Russian singers, musicians and musical performers.

The Presidential Library will continue to develop concert-educational activity together with the International Charity Fund “Constantine”.
