Residents of the M. G. Savina House of Stage Veterans to visit the Presidential Library

On the Day of the full liberation of Leningrad from blockade, January 27, 2014, at 11 am, residents of the M. G. Savina House of Stage Veterans, more than 80 people, many of whom are Honored and People’s artists, front-line soldiers will visit the Presidential Library. This will be their first big tour after return of the House of veterans to its building on Petrovsky Island.

Just as the Presidential Library, the House of Stage Veterans is under the jurisdiction of the Administrative Directorate of the President of Russia. Guests will have a tour of the unique historical complex of the Synod, visit the exhibition "Salute over the Neva" featuring photographs, which capture moments of joy and jubilation after the lifting of the blockade of the city in 1944. Unique photos made by war correspondent and amateur photographers, had preserved for history the views of urban streets and squares of the wartime.

The Presidential Library staff will grant to the museum of the House of Stage Veterans, located in the Memorial office of M. G. Savina, a unique document of 1900 - an electronic copy of the letter of Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich to the Imperial Russian Theater Society on the allocation by the emperor of land and building on the Petrovsky Island in St. Petersburg for organization of a refuge for aged scenic figures.

The House of Stage Veterans in St. Petersburg, restored by order of the Administrative Directorate in accordance with the resolution of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, re-opened its doors in May 2013.

The letter must include: full name, date and place of birth, full passport details (series, number, where, by whom and when issued), place of registration, the equipment to be used, contact numbers.
