Online present from the State Academic Chapel and the Presidential Library

December 26, 2014 at 16 p.m. the Presidential Library website will begin live broadcast of the Christmas concert of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg. Thanks to the broadcast, the event will be available to fans of musical art all over the world.

The State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg is the oldest domestic professional musical institution. Throughout the time it is a major source of musical education in Russia and is widely known in Europe.

Using the multimedia capabilities of the Presidential Library, the Chapel will demonstrate the beauty of folk art and traditions of musical culture in the virtual space. The first part of the program will include Russian sacred music, the authors of which are such prominent composers as Dmitry Bortniansky, Pavel Chesnokov, Alexander Archangelsky. The second part will include Russian folk songs by the chapel choir. Conductor - People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of State Prizes of Russia, Vladislav Chernushenko.

Concerts held at the Presidential Library is the traditional form of cooperation between cultural institutions of Russia and the modern cultural and educational center, housed by the historic complex of the Holy Synod. Erlier, it hosted the only in Russia performance  of an opera singer from the United States, Nicole Cabell and a world-class premiere - concert for the duduk, violin and saxophone, accompanied by the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra. The stars of world opera, accompanied by Constantine Orchestra presented there a concert program "Vivat, Russia!"

Elena Obraztsova celebrated the anniversary of her artistic career with a gala concert. For the first time in 100 years there were performed pieces of music created by members of the Romanov family. There was a concert as part of the First International Festival "Sax" in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the inventor of the instrument, Adolphe Sax. In the coming year, the Presidential Library, open to collaboration, will continue the concert and educational work.
