The Presidential Library will overcome translation problems

February 26, 2016 at 12.00 the Presidential Library will host a round table, "The role of modern information technology in the improvement of translation quality and the development of effective communication."

The most important issue to be considered at the meeting will be overcoming difficulties of translation in various fields, from science to tourism. Solutions developed by domestic programmers will be presented. The round table is organized by the Presidential Library jointly with the Chief Research Computing Center under the Department of Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation, the leading public IT-center of Russia.

The round table will discuss the high-tech training of interpreters in Russia, post-machine translation, translation of Russian literature, of legal, scientific texts, tourist guides into foreign languages. The discussion promises to be the most practical - the debate will be attended by representatives of various organizations.

The event is going to bring together representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Migration Service, Judicial Department under the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Russian Orthodox Church, Institute of Translation, and many other experts. Scientific developments will be presented by scholars and professors of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia,  Baltic State Technical University "Voenmeh" D. F. Ustinov, St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Boris Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Humanities Institute of the North Caucasus Federal University, Siberian Federal University.

Representatives of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Rome (Italy), Yerevan (Armenia), of the Presidential Library Reserve Center in Moscow, libraries of Krasnoyarsk and Stavropol will join the event via video conferencing.

The attached form must specify the media name, the full name of journalist, date and place of birth, full passport details (series, number, by whom and when issued), place of registration, the equipment to be used, contact phone numbers. All the fields of the form must be completed.
