“Hungarian Rhapsody” by Lev Sidorovsky will sound at the Presidential Library

20 June 2017

The Presidential Library invites an audience on screening and discussion of documentary movie under the name of “Hungarian Rhapsody” at forthcoming meeting of the Cinema Club taking place on June 20, 2017, at 4 pm. The movie will be presented by its author Lev Sidorovsky, a well-known journalist, laureate of international and all-Union competitions, and eminent culture figure of Russia, so a minor planet in the Solar system named after him.

“Hungarian Rhapsody” – is the movie-image of Budapest – “a pearl of the Danube,” in a centuries-old background of which the bloodstained tragedies entwined with lively smiles and brilliant melodies. “My film cannot be called a documentary in every sense of the word, and especially on local history, –Lev Sidorovsky told. – Most likely this is my confession: with my intonation, with the must-have “hint” in the story, with an intrigue, wonderful local music and a required descriptive laconism, when all unnecessary has been redacted in advance.”

The Cinema Club meeting will be held in the multimedia hall of the Presidential Library at 3 Senate Square, St. Petersburg, RF 190000.
