On October 20, 2023 the Presidential Library will host a scientific conference “1943 - the year of a decisive turning point in the history of the Great Patriotic War. Marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet troops in the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk and the breakthrough of the siege of Leningrad"
The defeat of the Nazi troops by the Soviet troops in the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, as well as the breakthrough of the siege of Leningrad, played a special role in achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). In connection with the 80th anniversary of these historical events, the Presidential Library’s conference will focus on the significance of 1943 as a turning point in the confrontation with Nazi Germany and will highlight the events that took place at the front, in foreign policy and Soviet society in 1943.
The conference will take place on October 20, 2023 at the Presidential Library (St. Petersburg, Senate Square, 3). Starting at 10:00, sign-in of participants from 9:00
