Society and Book Culture: Exhibition «The Charm of an Old Album» opened in the Ryazan Kremlin

The Ryazan Kremlin has launched a new exhibition «The Charm of an Old Album» which features albums and illustrated publications spanning the time between 19th – early 20^th centuries from the collection of the museum’s research library.

On display are books which spotlight memorial events and anniversaries in the history of Russia: the 50th anniversary of the Emancipation Manifesto, the centenary of the Patriotic War of 1812, the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov, the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Emperor Peter I; celebrations marking the coronation of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. The albums and illustrated publications spotlight the economic development, arts and industrial exhibitions, the flourishing of science, the appearance of remarkable art museums.
