IT and History: Russia’s electronic archive about World War I participants is nearing completion

The archive, that will unite information about the Russian participants of World War I, is nearing completion. Foreign Intelligence Service Chief and Russian Historical Society Director Sergey Naryshkin noted, that the major project was launched four years ago. Its purpose is to digitize the card files of losses (10 million files) during World War I. “Restoration of memory of participants of that war is one of the priorities of the Russian Historical Society and the Russian Military and Historical Society”, — Sergey Naryshkin stated.
