Museums of Russia: Exhibition “Peterhof Summer. The Imperial Taste” currently underway in Novokuznetsk

The exhibition “Peterhof Summer. The Imperial Taste” is currently underway in the Novokuznetsk Art Museum. It has been organized by the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The project is a part of the program of events in commemoration of 400th foundation anniversary of Novokuznetsk.

The display highlights the epoch of flowering of the Peterhof imperial residence in mid. 19th c. About 300 exhibits on loan from the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve –paintings, items of applied art, personal belongings of the imperial owners of the residence and prints with the views of Peterhof of 19th c – present parks and palaces of Peterhof during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I, cast light on different aspects of life of the imperial court in the summer residence, and unveil tastes and popular pastime of summer residence owners.
