Society and Culture: “Gorky Park: Factory of Happy People” display, marking 90th anniversary of Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure, underway in Moscow

On August 16, 2018 the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Gorky Park are presenting the exhibition “Gorky Park: Factory of Happy People” timed to coincide with 90th foundation anniversary of Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. Director of Gorky Park - Betty Glun - used to recall, that it was the British writer and publicist Herbert Wells, who gave such a name to the park as he visited Moscow in 1934. Later on it was shortened to “Happiness Factory” and became one of the unofficial names of the park.

The exposition presents paintings, drawings, sculptures, architectural sketches and models, rare archival documents, bills, photographs and personal belongings of park’s founders.
