Museums of Russia: The Museum of Military Medicine mounts a new exposition - N. I. Pirogov Museum

On December 20, 2018 the Museum of Military Medicine (St. Petersburg) is mounting a new exposition – N. I. Pirogov Museum.

N. I. Pirogov was the father of surgery in Russia, a prominent anatomist, founder of the field surgery and medical care provision for the army, an outstanding educator and public figure, one of the leading figures in the European medicine of mid. 19th century.

The exposition of the Museum of Military Medicine that is opening in 2018 is an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of the first N. I. Pirogov Museum. It will showcase artifacts associated with the name of the renowned surgeon.
