Commemorative Dates of Russia: The Tretyakov Gallery mounts an exhibition timed to 250th anniversary of birth of fabulist Ivan Krylov

On April 5, 2019 the State Tretyakov Gallery is presenting an exhibition timed to the 250th anniversary of birth of the writer Ivan Krylov (1769-1844). The exposition showcases works mostly from the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery.
The exhibition presents the world and the social circle of the celebrated dramatist, satirist, publicist, publisher and fabulist. On display are portraits of people, who were close to Ivan Krylov, lifetime editions of works of the fabulist from the Tretyakov Gallery Research Library and a medal “Commemorating 50-Year Literary Career of Ivan Krylov”.
The exhibition will be open from April 5 through September 29, 2019.
