The exhibition “The Recovered Paintings” will be open in the halls of the Arsenal Wing of the Gatchina Palace (1st floor) until September 8, 2019. Visitors will see 16 paintings from the historical painting collection housed in the Gatchina Palace.
All Gatchina owners contributed to the creation of the collection. It included portraits of members of the Romanov family, Russian and foreign statesmen, representatives of the ruling houses of Europe. Before the war the works were kept in the Chinese and Gothic Galleries of the Arsenal Wing, but after 1945 they were considered lost.
