Commemorative dates of Russia: Exhibition “Minister of Communications S. Yu. Witte. Marking the 170th Anniversary of the Birth” to open in St. Petersburg

From June 27, 2019 the exhibition “Minister of Communications S. Yu. Witte. Marking the 170th Anniversary of the Birth" will be running in the Central Museum of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation (St. Petersburg).

Sergei Witte was one of the most outstanding figures, who had a profound influence on the history, economy, political and public life of Russia in the late 19th - early 20th centuries.

The exhibition showcases rarities from the museum’s collections. Many of them have been put on display for the first time. Of particular value are photo albums, which spotlight the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Chinese Eastern Railway, as well as a unique original map of the Russian Empire of 1892-1902.
