Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: Exhibition “Magic of Early Theatre” mounted in Perm

The Perm State Art Gallery presents an exhibition from the collections of the Ostankino Museum-Estate (Moscow), which features original materials on the history of theatre in Russia. It will run until August 18, 2019.

2019 was proclaimed as the Year of Theatre in Russia. This year the Ostankino Estate is celebrating the centenary of a museum, which was opened in a theatre and palace complex of the late 18th century.

The exhibition, which is staged to mark the anniversary, spotlights early theatre and its role in the lives of people of the 18th-19th centuries. The exhibition consists of items housed in the Ostankino Museum-Estate, which are directly related to theatrical productions of the 18th – 19th centuries - the flowering of this art. The exhibition showcases over 100 exhibits.
