History and Culture: Exhibition “Truth and Beauty of Opera: Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov” presented in Moscow

The Russian National Music Museum (Moscow) presents the exhibition “Truth and Beauty of Opera: Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov”. The exhibition is organized in commemoration of the 180th anniversary of Modest Mussorgsky’s birth and the 175th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The exposition features more than 200 items from the museum’s collections, including the original manuscript of M. Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov, sketches of stage sets by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Konstantin Korovin, Fyodor Fedorovsky, theatrical costumes of Fyodor Chaliapin and Irina Arkhipova, theatrical bills and archival photographs. The exhibition will be open until November 30, 2019.
