Commemorative dates in Russia: Rare books with illustrations for Mikhail Lermontov’s works put on display in Irkutsk to mark the 205th anniversary of the poet’s birth

The Sukachyov Irkutsk Regional Art Museum (Main Building) presents the exhibition of rare books with illustrations for Mikhail Lermontov’s works. Residents of Irkutsk and visitors to the city have a unique opportunity to see the works of the great Russian poet and writer through the eyes of artists, who illustrated his books, as well as his own illustrations.

For the first time the museum’s library has put on display priceless books from the rare books collection, including the collection of Irkutsk architect B. M. Kerbel.
