Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: “Nicholas Roerich and Theatre” exhibition presented in St. Petersburg

The exhibition “Nicholas Roerich and Theatre” was presented at the Roerich Family Museum and Institute in St. Petersburg on December 6, 2019.

The exhibition showcases about 60 original sketches made by Nicholas Roerich for different theatrical productions. Old photographs, rare editions and documents complement the main themes of the exhibition. The purpose of “Nicholas Roerich and Theatre” exhibition, which marks the Year of Theatre in Russia, is to present Nicholas Roerich’s major theatrical works and give St. Petersburg residents an opportunity to discover his little-known paintings, which are part of various museum collections.
