Internet and Museums: a virtual tour through the exhibition of the new acquisitions to release on the Pushkin Museum-Reserve website
A virtual tour through the exhibition of the new acquisitions of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve in 2018, entitled “First Meeting”, was released on the museum's website.
The exhibition introduces the museum's collecting activities in 2018. The exposition items demonstrate the main directions and themes of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve collecting policy.
The constant direction of the collecting is the formation of a resource base on the iconography of the memorial landscape of the Pushkin's times.
A.V. Kaplun’s drawing with the artist's handwriting (1936) was included in the Graphics Collection of the 1930s. It is a view from the “Nanny’s House” through an open door to the porch with a column and linden trees on the driveway. It is the first picture with such a view in the museum collection.
A special place in the collection of graphics is occupied by the work of artists of the Leningrad school of graphics. For example, by Gennady Nikolaevich Veselov (1905-1969) and Vladimir Fedorovich Alekseev (1944-2010). The museum bought and received as donations several graphic works with Mikhailovskoye views.
The section of the modern Pushkin study is also developing by the new acquisitions. There are the works of I. D. Shaimardanov from the series “New Old Pushkin” related to the theme “Pushkin and the XXIst Century”.
The collection of rare books was supplemented by books with illustrations by V. M. Zvontsov.
In 2018, the priority object for completing was the “House of the Peasant” permanent exhibition of the “Pushkin Village” Museum in Bugrovo, featured with ethnographic materials of XIX-XX centuries.
