Society and Book Culture: "Reading Environment: Traditional Reader" exhibition, marking the 400th anniversary of Protopop Avvakum, opened in Perm

Gorky's Perm Regional Library is holding the "Reading Environment: Traditional Reader" exhibition. It is marking the 400th anniversary of Avvakum Petrov (1620–1682), a priest, and an ecclesiastic writer.

The exhibition showcases popular publications of the XVII century, which made up the circle of reading of that period. The goal is to show the literary and publishing background on which the ideas of early Raskol were formed.

The exhibition will run on March 15, 2020, in the reading room of the rare books department.
