Society and Culture: "Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts" exhibition presented in Saint-Petersburg

10 March 2020

The "Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts" exhibition was opened on March 6, 2020, at the Roerich Family Museum-Institute.

Marking the anniversary year of the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, the Roerich Family Museum-Institute arranged an exhibition, devoted to Society's activities and Nicholas Roerich's cooperation with the Society. It also features the little-known works of Society's members and exhibitors, students of the Society's Drawing School of different years from the Museum-Institute's collection.

The exhibition includes paintings and drawings, documents, photographs, rare editions and items from the Roerich Family Museum-Institute's collection, featuring the activities of Roerich and his students, connected with the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. The exposition also presents rare works from private collections, performed by the artists from the large circle of the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts Drawing School.

The exhibition will run until June 8.
