
Memory of Russia: Exhibition "Military Leaders. From Alexander Nevsky to Georgy Zhukov" opened in Ulyanovsk
Exhibition "Military Leaders. From Alexander Nevsky to Georgy Zhukov" became the final event of the Russian History Decade at the Memorial Apartments of the Ulyanov Family. It features over 40 posters and graphic works from the collections of the Lenin Memorial.
"The exhibition is a part of the "Culture" national project, and it also is the final event of the Russian History Decade of the Lenin Memorial. This exhibition is the final step in the festive program of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the first stage in the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Prince Alexander Nevsky", said Anna Barannikova, Deputy Director for Museum Activities of the Lenin Memorial.
The exposition is arranged according to the chronological principle. The first section is devoted to Alexander Nevsky. The posters of the second part of the exhibition "Russian Military Leaders of the XIV-XX Centuries" highlight the great battles and outstanding army and naval commanders of pre-revolutionary Russia. It illustrates life and deeds of Dmitry Donskoy, the great-grandson of Alexander Nevsky; Peter I, an outstanding statesman and military leader, founder of the regular army and navy, talented commander and diplomat; Alexander Suvorov, a genius commander who did not lose a single battle; Mikhail Kutuzov, a great commander and hero of the Patriotic War of 1812.
The third part of the exhibition is entitled "Civil War Heroes: White and Red". It presents posters and graphic works about the outstanding White and Red Armys' commanders of the Civil War of 1918–1920.
The final section is "Marshals of Victory". It spotlights the most outstanding and famous commanders of the Great Patriotic War.
Exhibition "Military Leaders. From Alexander Nevsky to Georgy Zhukov" will run at the exhibition hall of the Memorial Apartments of the Ulyanov Family until January 31, 2021.
