Information Technology and Museums: State Tretyakov Gallery launched an audio guide in Korean
The State Tretyakov Gallery created and launched an audio guide in Korean as part of the 2020–2021 Cross Year of the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation. The project was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia and the State Tretyakov Gallery expect the launch of the audio guide in Korean will significantly improve the understanding of Russian culture and art by Korean museum visitors. For Koreans, the State Tretyakov Gallery is a leading art and educational centre, which introduces the masterpieces of Russian art.
The audio guide describes 266 works from the permanent exhibition in the main building of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane.
Over the past five years, the number of Koreans visiting Russia has increased from 140,000 in 2014 to 450,000 in 2019. This trend is expected to resume with the stabilization of the coronavirus pandemic.
The governments of Korea and Russia have planned numerous festive events in the 2020–2021 Cross Year of the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation. Most of them are online due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia is going to cooperate with the Russian government and public organizations to implement various creative projects.
