World Culture: Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts launched the exhibition "The Moscow Life of Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and His Son Giovanni Domenico"
On February 11, 2021, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) will open the exhibition "The Moscow Life of Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and his Son Giovanni Domenico". It presents the Moscow collection of paintings by the leading Venetian artist of the XVIII century Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696, Venice - 1770, Madrid) and his son Giovanni Domenico (1727, Venice - 1804, Venice).
The exposition features two famous paintings from the "Arkhangelskoye" Museum-Estate. These canvases used to be the pride of the Yusupov gallery. Paintings from the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts also originate from the Yusupov collection. The exhibition is one of the first events in an extensive program of the Cross Year of Russia and Italy in 2021–2022. It was announced by the Ministries of Culture of both countries and aims to promote cooperation between Russian and Italian museums.
