History and Culture: "Boyar Rus'" exhibition presented in Moscow
The halls of the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich (historical reconstruction of the structure of the XVII century) in Kolomenskoye host the "Boyar Rus" exhibition. It presents paintings by the graduates of the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
The works of students of different classes of graduates are performed in the traditions of classical Russian realistic art school. The selected plots describe the "golden age" of the history of the Moscow state and the establishment of the Romanov royal family. They depict boyar Russia with its luxurious lifestyle and rich clothing, the everyday life and worries of the city residents, loud and bright folk festivals and fairs on the Ascension Square in Kolomenskoye.
The works thoughtfully recreate the atmosphere of ancient Russian cities with their unique architecture, churches and fresco paintings of the temples.
A series of works is devoted to women. Much attention is paid to ornaments of an old Russian costume.
The exposition features both paintings and objects. There are porcelain and silver items made after sketches by Ilya Glazunov in the style of the XVII century, a series of handmade silk boyar costumes from the "Antique Fabrics" workshops and fabrics of the famous Venetian factory "Fortuny".
The exhibition will run until June 30, 2021.
