Society and Culture: Exhibition "Poets and Muses. From the Collections of Museums of the Russian Federation" launched in Moscow

The Alexander Pushkin State Museum (Moscow) launched the exhibition "Poets and Muses. From the Collections of Museums of the Russian Federation".

"Poets and Muses" is a large-scale intermuseum project that tells about the inspiration and poetry as the permanent feature of the oeuvre by Russian writers. The exhibition is arranged by the Alexander Pushkin State Museum jointly with the Association of Literary Museums of Russia.

The exhibition involved dozens of literary museums from different parts of Russia. Fifty-four museums provided more than two hundred unique items relevant to love and inspiration in Russian literature. There are paintings, drawings, memorial things, documents, manuscripts, many of which will be showcased for the first time. The exposition presents the images of the main heroes of the project and their inspirers and muses, who encouraged Russian classics to create great works.

The exhibition project is prepared by such big literary museums as the Vladimir Dal State Museum of the History of Russian Literature, the Pushkin National Museum, the Ivan Turgenev Oryol Integrated State Literary Museum. Memorial museums as the Nikolai Nekrasov State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve "Karabikha", Alexander Ostrovsky State Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve "Shelykovo", Nikolai Chernyshevsky Museum-Estate, Leo Tolstoy State Museum, State Memorial and Natural Reserve "Yasnaya Polyana ", Mikhail Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve and others also took part in the project.

The exhibition will run until December 12, 2021.
