
Marking the Year of Science and Technology: All-Russian Scientific Conference "Seas of Russia" to hold in Sevastopol
From September 20 to September 24, 2021, the Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Sevastopol will host the All-Russian Scientific Conference "Seas of Russia: Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation - UN Decade of Ocean Sciences".
The conference is part of the official events program of the UN Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). It aims to support the strategic goal of this project is to preserve a healthy ocean ecosystem for the future of humanity and become one of the venues for the Year of Science and Technology in Russia.
The conference mission is to improve the coordination of marine research programs, improve monitoring systems of the seas environment, develop scientific potential, optimize the planning of the maritime space and reduce risks to improve the exploration of resources in marine and coastal zones.
The conference will include plenary, sectional and poster presentations on the following topics:
Section 1. Fundamental processes of formation and evolution of the marine environment;
Section 2. Marine monitoring systems: Methods, tools and results;
Section 3. Rational use of resources of the marine environment.
The conference invites specialists in oceanography, physics of the sea, ocean geography, biogeochemistry and environmental management.
