Science and Society: National Centre for Physics and Mathematics to open in Sarov
The National Centre for Physics and Mathematics will open in Sarov (Nizhny Novgorod Region). The scientific complex will become a platform for training highly qualified scientists.
The National Centre for Physics and Mathematics will provide new opportunities for conducting world-class research, become an advanced platform for training highly qualified scientists and strengthen the country's scientific potential.
The Centre's creation will involve specialists of Rosatom, scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kurchatov Institute and other scientific and educational institutions.
The heart of the complex will be research, testing and demonstration buildings, advanced laboratories, IT and Congress Centres, and a new educational building of the Moscow State University branch.
The Centre was initiated by the President of Russia. It is planned to complete the construction in 2025.
The Russian Government will allocate 5 billion rubles to create the Centre. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
