Museums of Russia: Hermitage Days to hold in Omsk
On October 20-24, 2021, the VI Hermitage Days will be held at the Omsk Vrubel Museum of Fine Arts. The Hermitage-Siberia Center, the official representation of the State Hermitage Museum beyond the Urals, hosts them for the third time.
The festive program provides both professional and social events. The central one is the opening of an exhibition from the collection of the State Hermitage Museum entitled "In Light and Beautiful Harness..." Items of a Ceremonial Horse Harness of the XVIII - early XX Centuries". The exposition presents over 150 works of painting, graphics, sculpture and applied art from two departments of the country's leading museum. They tell about various events in the life of the imperial court associated with horses - coronation celebrations, emperors, empresses and their favourites, wars, parades, unusual court holidays, hunting, travels, horse racing, funeral ceremony.
The exhibition will run until August 28, 2022.
All these days, the Hermitage Cinema and an exhibition of publications donated by the State Hermitage Scientific Library to the city are open at the Omsk Student Centre.
