Peoples of Russia: Exhibition "Visiting the Tatars" from the collection of the Yelabuga Museum-Reserve opened at the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve in Rostov Region

November 19, 2021 to February 28, 2022 the exhibition "Visiting the Tatars" from the collection of the Yelabuga State Historical and Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve was opened in the village of Vyoshenskaya, in the exhibition halls of the People's House (Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, Rostov Region). It has been prepared to mark the Year of Native Languages ​​and National Unity, announced in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2021.

The exhibition features 303 exhibits that tell about history, culture and religion, rituals, traditions and science, outstanding figures of the Tatar people from ancient times to the present day.

The exposition features sets of women's Tatar costumes - urban and rural, clothing items, authentic household items, tools, dishes, furniture, musical instruments and much more. Household items created from fabric are decorated with rich embroidery with floral designs, which are also found in metal engraving. Special attention is drawn to jewelry - bracelets, collar pendants, sling, earrings.

The traditional Tatar art of leather patterned mosaic is also vividly presented: the famous ichigi - shoes made of colored leather, and slippers with soft and hard soles, as well as pillows and panels with floral ornaments.

Each exhibit of the exhibition visually spotlights the traditional Tatar national culture, the spiritual heritage of the Tatars, the customs and life of the Tatar people that have developed over the centuries.
