Internet and Society: Unique toponymic portal launched in St. Petersburg

The resource about the history of street names and city objects in St. Petersburg was created by specialists from the Institute for Cultural Programs with the participation of the Toponymic Commission of the city.

The exceptional value of the portal is the database of toponyms of St. Petersburg, the first and only encyclopedic collection in Russia in a systematic way, recreating a complete toponymic picture of the city throughout its 319-year history.
