6 December 2022

The #Backstage section of the Discover Moscow travel portal features a new publication, the readers of which will have an opportunity to learn about the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theatre and its life behind the scenes. The workers’ stories about the creation of the capital’s residents’ favorite plays are complemented by a virtual excursion, photographs from dressing rooms and workshops.

The tour of the theatre begins with the auditorium. In the hold, located under the stage, there is a turning circle mechanism that sets it in motion. There is also built a special space for actors where they can apply makeup. The main dressing rooms are backstage.

Next to the theatre was once located the apartment of Alisa Koonen and Alexander Tairov. Over time, it became a part of the theatre. Now, one can see there the dresses of the actress that she wore for the productions of the Chamber Theatre, which was succeeded by the Pushkin Moscow Theatre in 1950.

The #Backstage section of the Discover Moscow portal allows visitors to learn about other significant sites of the capital as well, such as, for example, the Moscow Metro, the Apothecary Garden, the Dream Island Amusement Park, the skating ring at VDNKh, etc.
