The History of Russia: the 65th anniversary of Victory will be celebrated with the joint parade of CIS

“The participating countries of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) will hold the joint parade in Moscow to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War”, - this was announced by the head of the executive committee, the executive secretary of CIS Sergei Lebedev.

He called the 65th anniversary of Victory “the sacred date for the most people of participating countries of CIS”.

Moreover in April-May 2010 it is supposed to provide the maximum of benefits for veterans, who live in countries of CIS.

“Despite the attempts to change the accents in evaluation of the Great Patriotic War the Victory Day remains for our people the day of triumph of justice, pride and peoples’ deep sorrow for millions of casualties”, - told Sergei Lebedev.

He stressed the necessity to “honour the memory of the fallen by preserving and taking care of military burial places, memorials, monuments, obelisks, graves of partisans, members of the underground organizations and prisoners of the fascist camps and also by organizing the search of soldiers’and civilians’ remains, who were killed by the fascist invaders during the Great Patriotic War”.
