Internet resources: Moscow launches its official electronic atlas

Moscow electronic atlas will be useful first of all to the officials of the local government and organizations, which regulate city’s management.

In the end of November 2009 the governor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov signed the instruction on implementation of Moscow electronic atlas. In accordance with the resolution this project represents the city-wide integral geo-information resource available via Internet which provides official information relevant to city objects.

In the Department of informatization of Moscow CNews informed that the electronic atlas was developed in the framework of tender implementation on creation of the Model of integral information space of Moscow based on geo-information resources. This project is available on the web site Atlasmoscow.ru. Among its functions – is the synchronous provision of the government bodies of Moscow administration with different sort of geographical information in order to prevent their uncoordinated actions.

The provided information is based on the city information sources, which include the State Cartographical Resource, Moscow classifiers, Register of Moscow buildings and objects addresses and other official information resources of Moscow. From now on the maps of city’s territories on a scale of 1:25000 and 1:10000 together with the official Register of buildings and objects addresses, classifiers of territories, municipal objects and streets will be available via Internet.
