Libraries of Russia: 1st All-Russian contest on “Best library’s project on state symbols’ popularization in the region»
The 1st All-Russian contest among the libraries of Russia on the “Best library’s project on state symbols’ popularization in the region”, which was announced by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has been finished.
The state order on holding the contest was executed by the LLC firm “GRAND”. Among the participants were the members of the Heraldic Council of the President of the Russian Federation, who also represented the contest’s jury. The contest, which had been held from July 2009, displayed genuine interest of its participants to the announced topic. The projects, submitted to the jury, displayed the knowledge of material and the creative approach to its presentation.
The mission of the contest is to assist the libraries in popularization of State symbols of the Russian Federation, as an integral part of the patriotic upbringing of the young generation.
The contest’s jury received 417 works according to two nominations. The geography of the contest included different regions of our country: Murmansk and Krasnodar, Smolensk and Khabarovsk, Adygea and Chukotka and others.
Three prize-winners were announced in the category “Best mass function on state symbols’ popularization in the region”. Among them were the Central City Library of Polyarny (Murmansk region); the Central Library network “Izmailovo” (Moscow); the Central City Youth Library n. a. M. Svetlov (Moscow). In the category “Best publishing project on state symbols’ popularization in the region” the prizes were given to the Regional Special Library for blind (Rostov-on-Don); the Ryazan Regional Youth Library n. a. K. G. Paustovsky; the Inter-settlement Central Library of Oktyabr’ Centralized Library network (Kalmyk Republic). The winners of the project were awarded with valuable presents and certificates.
