Education and society: “Russian Education elite” award ceremony in Yekaterinburg
Marking the Year of the Teacher in Russia the “Russian Education elite” award ceremony will be launched on February, 24 at 2 p.m. at the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Education.
It is an annual prize, which recognizes contributions to the system of Russian Education made by prominent executives, scholars, state and public figures, pedagogues, educational institutions and other organizations. “Russian Education elite” — is the only one national prize, which is awarded to collectives, public and state enterprises and establishments, whose accomplishments have become a genuine pride of the Russian Education.
Among “Russian Education elite” award-2009 winners are the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Education (“Best academic educational institution”), gymnasiums № 47, 13, 174 of Yekaterinburg (“Best innovative project”), lyceum № 110 n. a. Grishina (“Outstanding educational institution of the Russian Federation”).
The lyceum № 109 and the school № 140 (Leninsky district), the school № 128 and the gymnasium № 99 (Ordzhonikidzevsky district) the Ural State University of Economics college, the school № 50 (Nizhny Tagil) were bestowed with laureate certificates of the “Quality education – nation’s future” contest in the category “Best innovative project”.
The award ceremony of the best academic and educational institutions attracted the Minister of General and Professional Education of Sverdlovsk oblast Sergei Cherepanov, Deputy Mayor of Yekaterinburg Mikhail Matveev, the Director of Education Department of Yekaterinburg Eugeniya Umnikova and heads of Yekaterinburg districts.
