Prime Minister of Russian Federation: On IT development in the Russian Federation

On February, 8 the Russian Federation Government Chairman Vladimir Putin held a session of the Government Commission for Regional Development, which took place in the Congress Hall in Ufa. Before the session Vladimir Putin got acquainted with an exhibition “Electronic Bashkortostan”.

Vladimir. V. Putin presided over the session, which this time highlighted the issues of IT development in the regions of the Russian Federation.

The Head of the Government supported the idea of saving the citizens of Russia from the necessity of wasting their time in queues for various documents. The Prime Minister expressed certainty that introduction state and municipal services in the electronic format would tackle that problem.

"New technologies enhance the efficiency of social help, and budget money start producing a greater feedback. We are going to closely supervise the state of things in each region, while transition to the new format will become one of the most crucial efficiency rates of the work of regional and municipal government bodies", - emphasized Vladimir V. Putin.

According to the Chairman of the Government, “citizens need their own personal “electronic key” to the cutting edge services”. Vladimir Putin is convinced that the social card should take the role of such “key”.

"Many regions of the Federation have got a successful experience in its implementation and utilization, Bashkortostan is among them. Over 150,000 such cards have been issued in the Republic. Today we had a chance to see the principles of their work: in the health care system, public transport and medicine provision sectors. Today I saw how it worked in the hospital – you know, it is, indeed, highly effective. I am sure that those people, who are able to make use of this service, are grateful to the government of the Republic for these technologies’ introduction", - emphasized Vladimir Putin.

The Head of the Government of the Russian Federation called to settle all the legislative and organizational issues, concerning the electronic cards’ implementation. He commissioned the Heads of regions to take control of IT introduction in the social sector.
