
Libraries abroad: Online conference “Innovation for Libraries in the 21st century”
Alliance Library System and LearningTimes welcome to take part in the upcoming online conference “Innovation for Libraries in the 21st century”, which will open on May, 12 2010. This conference will include keynotes by Rich Harwood of the Harwood Institute and Helene Blowers of the Columbus Metropolitan Library (Ohio, USA), and also Kitty Pope and Kendal Orrison, who will represent Alliance Library System.
The report of Richard Harwood, founder and president of The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, will highlight the question "Why Innovation is Critical in This New World We Find Ourselves In". Helene Blowers, Director of Digital Strategy for the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) in Columbus will give a report entitled “Innovation starts with “I”.
his session will explore how the I, YOU, WE of organization cultures are involved in responding to the needs and desires to innovate and change. The report of Kendal Orrison, IT Director of the Alliance Library System, will bear the name “Faking Your Way to the Future: Innovation and Change Management in a Large, Multi-Location Consortia”. It will show how to move an organization or any group towards a common goal
