Digital libraries: Video archive of veterans’ first-hand experience in “Our Victory” project

The Federal project entitled “Our Victory” kicked off in Tambov. It is a unique video archive, which contains first-hand experience of the Great Patriotic War veterans, which will be available to all on website www.41-45.su.

During the project’s presentation, its organizers – representatives of the Tambov branch of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), Department for Public Relations of the Regional Administration, told about the project’s uniqueness. Thousands of war veterans’ video recollections will be represented on the website.

Residents of Tambov also displayed readiness to contribute to the project. The website currently contains dozens of video interviews with veterans of Tambov. However by May this figure should reach a thousand, because about 2,000 war veterans live in the oblast center alone.

There is still a lot of work to do, admit project’s coordinators from Tambov. Volunteer interviewers are needed as well. Everyone has a chance to take up a role of a journalist or a cameraman.
