International conferences: International scientific conference marks 500th anniversary of Pskov annexation to the Russian State

The International scientific conference entitled “Pskov, Russian lands and Eastern Europe in 15-16cc. 500th anniversary of Pskov annexation to the Russian State” will take place in May 19 - 21 2010 in Pskov.

The conference has been organized by the Pskov State Pedagogical University n. a. S. M. Kirov jointly with the European University in St. Petersburg with a financial backing of the State Committee of Pskov oblast for Culture and the National Science Foundation of Russia. The conference brought together scholars from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Lipetsk, Kazan, Lithuania and Poland.

The program of the conference will include two sections: the archaeology, philology and art study section and the history, source study and historiography section, as well as two scientific and practical seminars: in the Pskov Kremlin, the Snetogorsky and the Pskov-Pechora monasteries.
