Libraries of Russia: National Library of Tatarstan launches an exhibition “90th foundation anniversary of TASSR”

The Tatar and Local History Literature Department of the National Library of Tatarstan is mounting an exhibition entitled “90^th foundation anniversary of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (TASSR) (1920)”.

The Republic of Tatarstan is celebrating one of the most significant events in the history of the Republic and its multinational people – 90^th anniversary of the TASSR foundation. For people of Tatarstan the events of 1920 started a new page of its statehood.

Building of the Republic was accompanied by measures focused on strengthening the status of the Tatar language, upbringing and support of Republic’s specialists. Great attention was paid to the development of the national culture. Major changes took place in the economics’ development.

To mark the anniversary the Tatar and Local History Literature Department of the National Library of Tatarstan has launched an exhibition of books and archival materials, dedicated to 90^th foundation anniversary of TASSR.
