International events: “Computex” Computer Expo launched in Taiwan

2 June 2010

The largest computer exhibition in Asia - Computex 2010 - kicked off on June 1 in Taiwan. It brought together all world’s leading producers of computers, processors, notebooks and other equipments. However, undoubtedly, the hottest issue on the agenda at Computex will become Tablet PCs, to be displayed at the exhibition.

Practically all have great expectations regarding these miniature devices – their sellers, developers of mobile processors, memory, sensor screens and even Internet providers. No wonder, as tablet PCs represent wide networking capacity and their mass production should lead to Internet traffic increase.

Nvidia CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, says that their company as well delivers its products for table PCs. Mr Huang expects that within five years table PCs are likely to become the best-selling computers, thus leaving traditional notebooks behind.

Gartner analysts predict that this year there will be sold about 12 million table PCs, however following optimistic forecasts, by 2014 the sales rate of these devices will amount to 50-60 million computers.
