Libraries of Russia: “eServices” introduced in Angarsk libraries
Central Library System of Angarsk is revamping its website. Among its new functions and facilities is “electronic lending library”, which will enable patrons renew a book borrowed from the library without visiting the library.
The website will include a full-text data base, news about past or upcoming events in the branches of the Central Library System. Among the highlights of the enhanced website will be local lore literature. Website users will be able to browse editions dedicated to the hometown and photographs. Kids’ page will be launched for small users. Due to the Internet resource young readers will be able not only to read interesting books but also discuss them online and participate in quizzes.
Users may now submit questions on a particular topic and librarians will answer them and help choose relevant literature. The revamped website will also enable patrons chat in Internet communities and blogs.
What is more, literary contests will be held for patrons. Those taking an interest in new editions will be offered an access to the list of latest arrivals and rating of most popular books.
