Information security: Software products for info security in Russia were 4.7% down in 2009
Sales volume of software systems ensuring information security was 4.7% down last year reaching the point of 201 million dollars.
Though the Russian IT market is on the whole 35.4% down, rise of threats from hackers, virus writers and spammers forced users to invest significant sums into software providing information security in spite of financial crisis.
The most active consumers of such a software were home users who left behind even state institutions, banks and companies working in the field of telecommunication.
Almost two thirds of the Russian market of software solutions for information security are controlled by five companies: ‘Kaspersky Laboratory’, ‘Informzashchita’, ESET, Symantec and Microsoft.
According to IDC forecast in 2010-2014 the Russian market of software solutions for information security will annually increase by 15.3% in average.
