Libraries of Russia: Problems of socially significant data access come in the spotlight of regional seminar

On September 29 2010 the Leningrad Regional Universal Scientific library will hold a regional seminar focused on the problems of access to the socially significant information for specialists of rural librarians and those libraries, which launched Public Access Centers to the socially significant information.

Seminar’s participants will bring into focus the following issues: activities and prospects of development of Public Access Centers in Leningrad Oblast; informatization of culture sphere of Leningrad Oblast as a tool of administrative reform implementation; areas of cooperation between the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being in Leningrad Oblast and public libraries aimed to ensure that population can access the socially important data; facilities of the data search system “Legislation of Russia” as a tool of the governmental system of legislative acts distribution in electronic format; the role of Public Access Centers in offering access to public services in electronic format.

The seminar is expected to bring together specialists of the Committee for Culture of Leningrad Oblast, Committee for Press and Public Relations of Leningrad Oblast, Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being, Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation, Public Access Centers of Leningrad Oblast, Municipal Formations Councils of Leningrad Oblast.
