Archives: Plan for RF historical archives declassification to be completed by end of 2010

A five-year plan which stipulates declassification of Russian historical archives will be ready by end of 2010, announced Andrei Artizov, Head of the Federal Archives Agency (Rosarhiv).

"Measures aimed at speeding up declassification of documents have been mapped out. A five-year plan of the work on archival documents declassification is being under development", - he said after a joint session of the RF Presidential Commission to Counter Attempts to Falsify History to the Detriment of Russia’s Interests and the Interdepartmental Commission for the Protection of the State Secret. Head of Federal Archives Agency explained that the document would be completed by the end of that year and stipulate the increase of works on declassification.
