On October 28 - November 14 2010 the National Library of the Udmurt Republic is holding an exhibition “On the way of foundation: marking 90th anniversary of the Udmurt Republic’s statehood”.
The exposition is divided into three sections. The first section called “The History of Statehood of Udmurtia” puts on display documents dating back to the beginning of 20th c., which turn the light on first ideologists of the national and state building of Udmurtia. The second section entitled “Udmurt ASSR in the common family of nations of the Soviet Union” enables visitors to familiarize themselves with the first Constitution of the autonomous republic which stipulated national and legal sovereignty of the Udmurts.
Materials which tell about the modern state of statehood of Udmurtia – transformation of the supreme bodies of state power and administration, approval of Republic’s symbols (anthem, flag, coat of arms) – became the content of the third “The Udmurt Republic – region of the Russian Federation” section.
Among the exhibits which arouse a keen interest are geographic maps of the Udmurt Republic before and after it achieved the status of autonomy.
