Museums of Russia: Exhibition “The Age of Catherine the Great” unveiled in Vladivostok

The exhibition of Russian paintings of 18th c. “The Age of Catherine the Great” was launched at the Primorye State Art Gallery, putting on display authentic works by artists of 2nd half 18th c.

The core of the exposition are the portraits of Catherine the Great, her courtiers and favorites, who played an important role in the history of Russia.

Most pictures were transferred to Vladivostok in 1930s from the Tretiakov Gallery. Among them are also pictures donated by the Russian Museum, Pavlovsk Palace-Museum and private collections.
