Internet resources: Winners of “Runet-2010 Award” announced

Winners of the 7th national “Runet-2010 Award” were announced at the solemn ceremony which kicked off in Moscow on November 25 2010. The award was established in 2004 by the Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications of Russia. Winners of the “Runet-2010 Award” were called in 6 traditional nominations, a “public choice”, and a specially founded nomination to mark the Teacher’s Year in Russia — “Teacher’s Internet project of the Year”.

Winners in the “State and Public” nomination were called the National Domain Coordination Center (an organization responsible for national domain .ru and .рф zones), “Home Alone” (Internet filter for protection of kids from adult content) and “Map of Help to victims of fires project.

In the “Culture and Mass Communications” nomination the statuettes went to the interactive multimedia project of public journalism “You are a reporter” launched by the RIA News agency, Russian BBC and Digital Access with “legal online cinema” Ivi.ru.

Among award laureates in the “Science and Education” nomination there are only two resources: Russian “Wikipedia” and Dmitry Zimin Foundation with the project “Elements.ru: popular website on fundamental science”.

Online shop Ozon.ru, “My business” project (accountant services online) and “Sravni.ru” resource (English: Compare.ru) (service enables to compare banking services) were recognized the best in the “Economy and Business” nomination.

In the “Health and rest” nomination winners became the official website of the “Healthy Russia” program, “TakZdorovo.ru”, “Gastronom.ru” resource and a website about water — DA-VODA.com. A special award in this nomination was given to the official website of the “Dinamo” hockey club.

Laureates in the “Technology and Innovations” nomination became “Scartel” company (Yota), Mail.ru online shop and COMDI project (forum for online meetings).

Best teacher’s Internet projects of the Year became “Dnevnik.ru”, the website of the Department of Education and Science of Kemerovo Oblast and “Filologii.net”.

In the public voting won an online game “Legend. Heritage of Dragons”, which received over 420 000 votes.

What is more, at the grand ceremony was awarded a special prize “National Heritage of Runet”. The prize went to the Director General of antivirus Kaspersky Laboratory Yevgeny Kaspersky.

A special award for contribution to the development of Runet went to the former Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Alexei Soldatov.

The competition “Runet Award” brought together over 600 projects. The jury which included over 700 experts was to compile a short list of ten projects for each nomination, and in the second round recognize three winners.
